What Makes Us Different?
We teach people how to choose and develop healthy relationships that will last a lifetime. We believe that when there are healthy marriages, there are strong families which leads to a thriving community.
Family Frameworks is a United Way Agency receiving funding from the local United Way of Northwest Georgia. We are dependent on partnerships with local donors and depend on trained volunteers to teach these concepts.

The marriage relationship enhancement classes that Family Frameworks offer to premarital and married couples cover topics in communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. By the end of the course, couples will learn how to put and keep honesty, compassion, understanding, and trust in their relationship.

For young teens ages 14 through 18, the Connections course teaches skills essential for success in their dating relationship skills. Practical skills such as self-understanding, how relationships work, dating and breaking up, dealing with problems, communicating effectively, and finally, what to expect from dating and marriage.

Originally known as The Northwest Georgia Marriage Initiative, Family Frameworks is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization created in 2004 to answer the need to reduce the high divorce rate and the high teenage pregnancy rate prevalent within the Whitfield and Murray counties. The organization was developed out of a grant that was awarded to "The Family Support Council" with guidance from the Whitfield County Family Connections Organization.

In response to the high divorce rate, in 2005 the local judges and pastors signed an agreement not to marry anyone without first attending a premarital class. Family Frameworks has enjoyed a collaborative partnership with the Whitfield County Probate Court in helping to carry out this agreement. Family Frameworks now serves the Northwest Georgia area, including Whitfield, Murray, Walker, Catoosa, and Gordon Counties.

Since 2004, over 500 individuals and couples have attended the classes offered by Family Frameworks showing a decrease in divorces by 24% and a higher ratio of marriages than divorces.
