Description:
We work to create sustained changes in Northwest Georgia by coordinating with whatever sectors, systems and groups that can play a role in the lives of the individuals that are affected by hardships in our community.

History:
According to some of Dalton’s civic leaders, the Whitfield Community Chest, now our United Way, was actually organized in 1946, although no records are available prior to 1952.

Almost 60 years and thousands of volunteers later, United Way of Northwest Georgia boasts a campaign goal of over $3.5 million allocated to 23 partner agencies.

United Way has evolved from a force in fundraising, to a community solutions provider – offering information and referral to residents of Northwest Georgia through the 2-1-1 Help Line and mobilizing individuals, businesses, students, and community groups to meet community needs through the United Way Volunteer Center.
