NVO advocates for incarcerated lifers, long-term and soon to be released individuals. We strive to end human rights’ violations within the penal system and reduce the high recidivism rates by advocating for and assisting prisoners in accessing Legal and aftercare resources, such as transitional housing, health care, education, employment, etc.

Description:
NVO also networks with other advocacy groups and individuals throughout the U.S. in order to share and obtain resources and other imparative information pertaining to the incarcerated population. Our belief is that God created all things to His Perfection. Therefore, if it breaks, it is our responsibility to fix it.

History:
NVO Founder/Social Worker began writing prisoners following her own loss of a loved one to incarceration. Following years of prisoner advocacy work and an opportunity to gain the trust of prisoners, stories began pouring out from most prisoners who never previously spoke out about their own painful past. Subsequently, New Vision Organization,Inc. a National nonprofit Organization was established in 2005

I am a spiritual advisor and teacher working with NVO improve conditions for inmates. I counsel inmates via us mail offering spiritual enrichment and encouragement. Though I am new to this position (2 weeks) I love it and have 6 cases to work on. Leonna Brandao, the organization founder is a wonderfully compassionate, patient, and caring person. You will enjoy working with her if you join.
