The mission of the Baltimore County Department of Aging is to develop and administer programs and activities that support Baltimore County senior citizens in their effort to remain healthy, active and independent members of the community and to provide, coordinate and advocate for services which ensure the highest quality of life for both active and health impaired seniors, their families and caregivers.

Description:
The Jacksonville Senior Center provides programs, activities, travel, classes, fitness and socialization for independent senior citizens. Volunteers are needed to teach classes, work at the receptionist desk, be a fitness studio volunteer, help with parties, and serve on our council board.

History:
The Jacksonville Senior Center has existed for 33 years. The center relocated to a newly-built facility at 3605A Sweet Air Road, Phoenix MD 21131 on August 9, 2010. It is on the grounds of Sweet Air Park with Recreation & Parks. Our new phone number is 410-887-8208.

Directions:

Take Dulaney Valley Road (across Loch Raven Reservoir) to Jarrettsville Pike, which bears to the left after crossing over the bridge. Stay on Jarrettsville Pike approximately 5 miles until 3rd traffic light. Turn right onto Sweet Air Road. The senior center is located about 1/2 mile on the right. Look for a brown county sign "Sweet Air Park". The senior center is located on the right side of the building as you drive into the Sweet Air Park entrance.
