Refugee Programs Volunteer- Transporting Refugees

We are currently looking for volunteers to become part of a pool of drivers to transport clients to necessary appointments (i.e., medical, social security, health department, WIC and utility offices ) and on errands. Most appointments fall during the day, Monday through Friday.

Refugees are people who have fled their home country for a legitimate fear of persecution based on race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. We help refugees build new and independent lives in Indianapolis by providing their basic needs and the tools needed to become self sufficient. We work with people from all over the globe including Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.

Potential volunteers must have a valid driver's license, transportation and insurance. We recommend volunteers have an open mind to people of various cultural backgrounds. All volunteers will participate in a one-time training session and receive a volunteer handbook.
