We are currently looking for volunteers to tutor refugees in English in the home, apartment office or local library. Teaching materials are available, and specific ESL (English as a Second Language) tutor training is offered a few times a year.

Refugees are people who have fled their home country for a legitimate
fear of persecution based on race, religion, nationality, membership
in a particular social group, or political opinion. We help refugees
build new and independent lives in Indianapolis by providing their
basic needs and the tools needed to become self sufficient.
We work with people from all over the globe including Africa,
the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.

Potential volunteers must have an open mind, cultural sensitivity, and patience. All volunteers will participate in a one-time training session and receive a volunteer handbook.
