Walter E. Boehm Birth Defects Center, Inc.

In 1963, The Walter E. Boehm Birth Defects Center was established by Dr. Walter E. Boehm, a Chattanooga neurosurgeon who recognized a need to treat children born with birth defects, particularly hydrocephalus and spina bifida. The Center was created to address the medical, financial, and psychosocial needs of these children and their families.

The Center provides a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary program, including medical, financial and psychosocial assistance, to over 730 patients across the Southeast.
