Volunteer: Teach our program to 9th graders in their High School Health class
Want to make a real impact in the lives of teens? Become a volunteer teacher!
As a volunteer, you’ll teach one class period (80 minutes, or two lessons) three times each quarter or semester—depending on the school system. We provide you with six ready-to-use lessons, covering topics such as:
-Goal setting and decision making -How hormonal and chemical changes in the teen brain affect choices -The influence of media, technology, family, and friends -Recognizing red flags in relationships (romantic and otherwise) -The impact of bullying from the victim’s perspective -Respect and communication skills -Each session ends with a review, reinforcing the life and soft skills teens need for future success in the workplace and in healthy relationships.
What we provide: -All teaching materials -Training and support -A chance to make a lasting difference in students’ lives
Where we teach: -9th grade Health classes at Dalton High, Dalton Academy, Southeast, Northwest, Coahulla Creek, North Murray, Murray, and Christian Heritage
-Four NWGA Boys & Girls Club locations during the summer (with modified lessons for ages 11–15, one hour per week for 4 weeks)
All volunteer opportunities are in person. Background check is required and is done through Whitfield County Sheriff's Department. Family Frameworks will pay for this.
Agency: Family Frameworks
