In 2019 on the Monday before Thanksgiving, Believe Greater Dalton brought over 1400 people downtown to share a meal together in the middle of Hamilton Street for our first annual Gratefull Dalton. Over 275 volunteers, 20+ restaurants, and generous sponsors helped make it a day we will always remember. While this event will be a gift to our community for many years to come, as with most everything over the past couple of years we have had to make a shift with this year's event.
Instead of gathering for a meal, we're going to use the Gratefull Dalton platform to meet some immediate needs of our community. We held the Gratefull Give-Back last year and, as always, our community showed up and showed out by donating pounds of food to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank!
On Monday, November 22 from 11am-2pm, we will show our gratitude for Greater Dalton once again through collecting shelf stable items for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank to be distributed among their agencies here in Whitfield County. We will have a drive thru system set up so you don't even have to get out of your car to drop off your donation! Mark your calendars and don't miss this opportunity to help us give back to the community who has given all of us so much!
This year, we are opening up this opportunity to our United Way's Youth United to volunteer in two shifts. Tasks will include unloading and loading can food donations and various other tasks during the event.
